The Herman and Eleanor Abel Scholarship supports Columbia County residents pursuing a degree in nursing, practical nursing, or medical assisting.

Award: Up to 20 awards covering full tuition, fees, and books.

Criteria:

• Enrolled in RN, LPN, or Medical Assisting
• Columbia County resident for the last three years
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

The Agnes Gleason Nursing Scholarship supports and encourages nursing students to become dedicated, knowledgeable, and caring professionals without financial or personal obstacles limiting their progress.

Award: One $1,000 award.

Criteria:

• Enrolled in the RN or LPN program
• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Demonstrated financial need beyond financial aid

The Anonymous Greene County Medical Scholarship supports Greene County students pursuing a degree in a medical field, helping to address healthcare needs within the community.

Award: Award amount varies based on student need and available funding.

Criteria:

• Enrolled in RN, LPN, or Medical Assisting
• Greene County resident
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

This scholarship supports nursing students and honors Roger Lane’s strong belief in the Rotary principles of service, community, and leadership.

Award: One $500 award.

• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Preference may be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to service, community, and leadership

The Freida Eising Medical Scholarship is awarded to Greene County residents in good academic standing who are pursuing a degree in Nursing or Medical Assisting.

Award: Award amount varies per need of the student and amount of available funding.

• Greene County resident
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

The Denise M. & Jerry Janiec Scholarship recognizes the hard work and dedication of students pursuing a degree in Nursing, Criminal Justice, or English.

Award: Two $500 awards.

Criteria:

• Pursuing Nursing, Criminal Justice, or English
• GPA of 3.25 or higher

This scholarship supports students with financial need who are pursuing a degree in the medical field. This scholarship is designed to help future healthcare professionals achieve their dreams and make a difference in their lives and communities.

Award: Up to 10 awards of $1,000 each, split as $500 in the fall and $500 in the spring.

Criteria:

• Enrolled in RN, LPN, or Medical Assisting
• Full- or part-time enrollment
• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Demonstrated financial need
• Not Pell Grant eligible

This scholarship supports second-year nursing students who are committed to providing compassionate care to individuals who are differently abled. It is intended for students who demonstrate a passion for inclusive and supportive nursing practices.

Award: One $1,000 award; may be renewed for the spring semester if the recipient remains in good academic standing.

• Enrolled in the 2nd year of the RN program
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Demonstrated commitment to working with individuals who are differently abled

This scholarship supports a second-year nursing student who demonstrates financial need and maintains good academic standing. This award is intended to help students succeed as they continue their journey toward a career in nursing.

Award: One $1,000 award; may be renewed for the spring semester if the recipient remains in good academic standing.

The Paul Kellner Nursing Scholarship assists future nurses as they progress through their program and prepare to complete their education and begin careers in healthcare.

Award: Up to three awards of $2,000 each, split as $1,000 in the fall and $1,000 in the spring.

• Enrolled in the 2nd year of the RN program
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Demonstrated financial need

The Ullman Family Charitable Trust Scholarship was established by the Ullman Family Charitable Foundation to assist nursing students as they pursue their education and prepare for careers in healthcare.

Award: Up to 6 awards of $2,000 each

Criteria:

• Enrolled in the 2nd year of the RN program
• Columbia County residents preferred
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

The Evelyn D. Reinhart Nursing Scholarship is awarded to a second-year Nursing student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement and financial need.

Award: One $1,000 award.

Criteria:

• Enrolled in the 2nd year of the RN program
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Full- or part-time enrollment
• Demonstrated financial need

The Robert J. Gaus & Kin T. Chee Nursing Scholarship supports a Greene County resident admitted to and enrolled in the Associate of Science in Nursing or 15-month LPN program. Recipients are expected to participate in the college’s “wraparound” support services, complete documented community service, and submit an annual reflection on their progress and professional development.

Award: One award covering tuition costs only; distributed in both the fall and spring.

Criteria:

• Greene County resident
• Enrolled in the RN or LPN program
• Demonstrated financial need
• Demonstrated commitment to serving the local community
• Remain in good academic standing
• Participate in the college’s wraparound support services
• Complete documented community service
• Required to submit an annual written reflection

The Louis Milone Scholarship supports a student in good academic standing who is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice or the business field.

Award: One $2,000 award, distributed as $1,000 in the fall and $1,000 in the spring if the recipient continues to meet the criteria.

Criteria:

• Pursuing Criminal Justice or a Business degree
• GPA of 2.75 or higher

The Harold P. Morrill Technology and Mathematics Scholarship supports students pursuing studies in Mathematics, Technology, Automotive, or the Sciences and honors the legacy of Mr. Morrill, an engineer who valued education in these fields.

Award: Two awards covering full tuition and fees.

Criteria:

• Pursuing Mathematics, Technology, Automotive, or any Science field
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

The Winters Fund Automotive Scholarship was created to support recruitment and retention in the Automotive Program.

Award: The award amount and number of awards are determined by the Foundation Board in accordance with the investment policy and awarded by Financial Aid based on available funding.

Criteria:

• Enrolled in the Automotive Program
• GPA of 2.0 or higher

The Marine Sergeant James A. Haggerty Scholarship honors the bravery and dedication of Marines by providing financial support to those pursuing a degree or certificate at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Award: One $500 award; the award may be split if the selected student’s financial need is less than the full amount.

Criteria:

• Active Marine, Marine reservist, or Marine veteran; if no eligible Marine applies, another branch of service or an immediate family member of a service member may be considered
• Full- or part-time enrollment
• Certificate programs are eligible
• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Demonstrated financial need
• Must be able to provide a DD-214 when applicable

The Maurice and Charlie Catel Memorial Scholarship supports an honorably discharged or active-duty service member pursuing an education in Automotive, Criminal Justice, Construction Technology, Medical Assisting, or Nursing at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Award: One $400 award.

Criteria:

• Pursuing Automotive, Construction Technology, Criminal Justice, RN, LPN, or Medical Assisting
• Honorably discharged or active-duty service member
• Full- or part-time enrollment
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Must be able to provide a DD-214 when applicable

The Senator Saland Community Service Scholarship supports a full-time Columbia-Greene student who is actively involved in community service. It recognizes students who give back to their communities while pursuing their education.

Award: One $1,000 award.

Criteria:

• Community service involvement
• Columbia County resident
• Full-time enrollment
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Demonstrate financial need
• Letter of recommendation from a faculty member or non-family community member

The Greene County Firefighter / Auxiliary Member Scholarship recognizes students who give back to their communities through service with a local volunteer fire organization while pursuing their educational goals. This scholarship encourages continued involvement in volunteer fire service and supports the next generation of firefighters and auxiliary members.

Award: One $600 scholarship

Criteria:

• Greene County firefighter, Volunteer Fire Auxiliary member, or junior firefighter
• Second-year student
• GPA of 2.3 or higher
• Enrolled in at least 6 credits
• Demonstrated financial need
• Additional application question required
• Completed recommendation form required

The Max Kelly Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of a life taken too soon and provides financial support to a full-time student pursuing a degree at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Award: One $2,000 award, distributed as $1,000 in the fall and $1,000 in the spring if the recipient continues to meet the criteria.

• Community service or extracurricular involvement
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Full-time enrollment

The Mustapha Diversity Scholarship supports a student who promotes acceptance of diverse cultures and religions, fosters inclusive friendships, and helps create a welcoming community.

Award: One $500 award.

• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Full-time or part-time enrollment
• Additional application questions required

The OUT Hudson Scholarship supports a student with financial need who demonstrates a strong affinity for and commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Award: One $1,000 award, distributed as $500 in the fall and $500 in the spring.

• Columbia County resident
• Full or part-time enrollment
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Demonstrated financial need
• Additional application questions required
• May not be awarded to the same student more than once

This scholarship supports Greene County students who are studying part-time or full-time, in credit or non-credit courses.

Award: The award amount and number of awards are determined by the Foundation Board in accordance with the investment policy and awarded by Financial Aid based on available funding.

• Credit courses, or non-credit courses that provide career or workforce training leading to employment

The Helping Hands Foundation Scholarship provides unrestricted financial assistance to support student recruitment and retention.

Award: The award amount and number of awards are determined by the Foundation Board in accordance with the investment policy and awarded by Financial Aid based on available funding.

• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Awarded at the discretion of Financial Aid

The Presidential Scholarship recognizes recent high school graduates from Columbia or Greene County who earned a 90% high school GPA or higher and enroll full-time at Columbia-Greene Community College. This is a multi-semester scholarship, with renewal evaluated each semester based on GPA.

Award: $800 per semester for students who continue to meet eligibility requirements; qualifying high school valedictorians and salutatorians receive $1,600 per semester.

Criteria:

• High school GPA of 90% or higher; 2026 high school transcript must be submitted
• Graduate of a Columbia or Greene County high school; Red Hook High School graduates residing in Columbia County may also qualify
• Full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits each semester
• Second-semester renewal requires completion of at least 12 credits and a GPA of 2.50 or higher
• Third-semester renewal requires completion of at least 12 credits each semester and a GPA of 3.25 or higher
• A disciplinary sanction may lead to revocation; an appeal for reinstatement may be possible after the sanction is removed
• One qualifying valedictorian or salutatorian receiving the $1,600 award will be designated and recognized as the recipient of the Raymond C. Kennedy Endowment Scholarship.

The James L. Salerno Cathedral Scholarship supports new students with financial need as they begin their educational journey at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Award: One $1,000 award, or two $500 awards.

Criteria:

• New student, or GPA of 2.0 or higher for returning students
• Demonstrated financial need

The Art and Jan Koweek Scholarship supports a new or returning student who demonstrates financial need.

Award: One $1,000 award.

Criteria:

• New student, or GPA of 2.0 or higher for a returning student
• Demonstrated financial need

The Nan Guterman Scholarship supports Catskill residents with financial need who have completed 12 or more credits and are enrolled at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Award: One $1,000 award, or two $500 awards.

• Catskill resident
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• At least 12 completed credits
• Demonstrated financial need

The Rise and Shine Scholarship supports adult students who are 24 years of age or older and enrolled at Columbia-Greene Community College.

Award: One $100 award.

Criteria:

• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Age 24 or older
• Full- or part-time enrollment

The Steve Waite Scholarship helps students stay on track toward completing their academic goals by supporting a student who demonstrates financial hardship.

Award: One $500 award.

Criteria:

• GPA of 2.70 or higher
• Demonstrated financial hardship or unmet need

The Susan A. Quinn Scholarship supports a Columbia-Greene student who is a musician and resides in Columbia, Greene, or Dutchess County.

Award: One $250 award.

• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Priority is given to an organ player, a student involved in liturgical music, or a student pursuing a liturgical position within a sacred institution
