Columbia-Greene Community College earns top ranks in Research.com rankings; leadership lauded as Spring 2026 semester comes to a close

Dean of Nursing Dr. Latasha Powell named as Top 5ive by NY-VT Media
HUDSON, N.Y. (May 4, 2026) — Columbia-Greene Community College (“Columbia-Greene”) has been ranked as the №3 Best Value College in New York State and the №5 Best Value College in the Northeast by Research.com, the highest the College has ranked since tracking began.
The ranking system is based on the average salary of recent graduates relative to tuition costs.
“It’s no secret to any of us that Columbia-Greene presents an excellent foundation for our students to excel in whatever pathway they choose — whether that is career-oriented or as the first step in a fruitful academic journey,” said Dr. Victoria Walsh, president, Columbia-Greene Community College. “We are immensely proud of not only our students, but our faculty and staff who are instrumental in us improving our rankings year-over-year.”
According to Research.com, Columbia-Greene also ranked as the №18 most affordable college in New York State and the №19 most affordable in the Northeastern United States. Last year, Columbia-Greene ranked as №5 Best Value within New York State and №9 Best Value in the Northeast.
Recently, Dr. Latasha Powell, dean of nursing at Columbia-Greene, was named as one of the Top 5ive by NY-VT Media, recognizing Dr. Powell’s leadership in the health sciences at the College.
