Continuing Education and Workforce Development

The Office of Continuing Education and Workforce Development serves the community by providing impactful and innovative programming designed to address both workforce related and personal enrichment needs.

SUNY C-GCC offers vocational training programs that equip individuals with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace. Programmatic offerings are holistically created for those beginning new careers, those who are entering the workforce for the first time, and those looking to upskill to advance professionally.

All Continuing Education and Workforce Development programming and course offerings are meant to be accessible, equitable, and affordable. Scheduling can take place at the College campus and nearby community locations. The College can offer the modality of in-person, online, hybrid, day, evening, and weekends.

The College’s non-credit courses provide an opportunity for lifelong learning and personal enrichment for the general public and local community. Areas of instruction range from arts and crafts, personal finance, to computer literacy and software application skills. Non-credit course offerings are held throughout the academic year.

Additionally, a variety of corporate training programs are offered for business and industry, government, and nonprofit organizations. These programs are customized to meet the immediate needs of the business community, address long-term industry demands, and to prepare for new business opportunities in an ever-changing economy. Funding and resources for corporate and workforce training may be available through grants such as the SUNY Workforce Development Grants.

There are multiple ways to register for Continuing Education and Workforce Development courses—online, by phone, or in person. You can view the available options below.

Please note that payment is required to complete your registration. Payments may be made by phone or in person. Before enrolling, be sure to review our registration policies regarding deadlines and refunds.

By phone:

Call the Office of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at 518.697.6370.

  • Payment Methods: Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover are accepted.

  • Please have your registration details and payment information ready when you call.

 In person:

Register and make payment at the Office of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.

  • Location: Main Building, Room 201S

  • Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • Payment Methods: Cash, check, money order, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover.

    Refunds:

    If the College cancels a course, your registration and course fee will be refunded in full. If you wish to withdraw from a course, you must request your written refund before the class begins. No refunds will be made after the first class meeting (the registration fee is not refundable).

    Cancellations:

    We reserve the right to cancel classes due to insufficient registration or emergency situations. If this occurs, you will be notified by telephone. You will be called only if the class has been cancelled or a change has been made.

    College Closing:

    In inclement weather or emergency closings, noncredit classes will be CANCELLED whenever the facility where the class meets is closed. Classes held at the main College campus will be cancelled ONLY if all evening classes are cancelled. Please listen to your local radio stations WGY 810 AM, WFLY 92.3 FM, WYJB 95.5 FM, WRVE 99.5 FM, or WRIP 97.9 FM or watch your local television stations WRGB-CBS Channel 6, WTEN-ABC Channel 10, WNYT-NBC Channel 13, or WXXA-FOX Channel 23.
